Build the Relationship You Desire
Intimacy requires both love and honesty. As your counselor, I see my role as that of a coach – guiding you as you regain intimacy in your relationship. I work with you to heal past hurts and take practical steps to rekindle the love of your life.
Why Couples Counseling Is My Passion
I have first-hand knowledge of the fallout from a broken relationship.
Growing up, I was deeply impacted by my own parents’ divorce when I was 12 years old. I witnessed:
- A traumatic experience that touched everyone involved.
- Great divides in my extended family.
- Distance coming between my siblings and me.
The memory of that experience is one of the reasons I’m so passionate about helping couples in my practice. It’s also why I’ve sought out the leading certifications in couples counseling.
I want to offer you the absolute best tools to support you in your relationship. Unlike many mental health professionals, before opening my counseling practice I worked in the corporate financial world for five years. While counseling is my passion, my time in the corporate arena gave me valuable insight into the workplace stress experienced by many of my clients.
This means when you talk with me about how your work is affecting your relationship I won’t just be nodding along. I understand. I’ve been successfully helping couples renew their connection for two decades.
I know life is messy. While I now specialize in couples therapy, I also have experience working with clients struggling with:
I’ve also counseled:
This combined experience means I’m able to meet you exactly where you are and work with you to find a path forward from there. I also use my own life experience to inform my practice and empathize with my clients.
Why I Became a Gottman-Certified Therapist
When I started my practice over twenty years ago, I quickly realized working with hurting couples is my passion.
Given the unique dynamics I’d noticed in my work with couples, I was driven to learn specific techniques to help couples effectively reconnect.
As I searched for the leading techniques in couples counseling, the Gottman Method came up time and again. With over 40 years of clinical research, it’s accepted as the gold standard of couples therapy.
To see if I was comfortable with their method, I did a Gottman weekend workshop as a participant – I was hooked!
The Gottman Method allows me to consistently deliver transformative results to my clients. Over the years, I’ve frequently heard couples tell me:
- “Our marriage was saved because of our work with you!”
- “I feel closer to my partner than ever.”
- “I’m so much happier in my relationship now.”

Why I Became Certified in Relational Life Therapy
Adding to the repertoire of tools I offer my clients, I became certified in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), a method founded by internationally acclaimed therapist Terry Real.
The RLT methodology is based on work by the acclaimed therapist Pia Mellody. By exploring how childhood trauma can lead to emotional dysfunction, the RLT approach takes a direct look at addressing relational patterns, codependency, and avoidance.
Incorporating RLT in my practice has been life-changing – for me as well as my clients.
Used in combination with the Gottman Method, what the RLT approach lets me accomplish with you in the first 90-minute session is mind-blowing.
You can leave that first session feeling understood.
Feeling like the mysterious knot of your relationship has finally been untangled.
And most importantly, feeling like there’s a clear path for you both moving forward.
I am deeply inspired by the courage and vulnerability I see couples display in their pursuit of a fulfilling relationship. I would be honored to be part of your journey.
